U’s striker Clinton Morrison spoke to the Green ‘Un 24 ahead of his side’s League One game against Carlisle at Brunton Park tomorrow afternoon, Morrison currently enjoying his time at the Weston Homes Community Stadium:

“The fans have always been good to me, since I’ve been at this club, no matter what I do. I always give 100% whatever club I play for, and Colchester United is a good club. Obviously my contract is coming to an end, but I’ve enjoyed helping the young kids here, so I’m just going to enjoy myself during my last three or four months. I’m an old pro now.

“Hopefully, if I can get on a little run, then I can score some more goals because they usually do come in batches. When I am feeling confident, the ball can stick to me all the time. I’m not a big guy, but I use my body well, which is something I have learnt to do over the years. But I don’t want to take too much credit. I don’t want to be seen as a big-head or anything. It’s just my job, and things went well for me last weekend,”

In team news for the U’s tomorrow afternoon they have three players missing through injury in Gavin Massey, Josh Thompson and Drey Wright. Central midfielder Massey still working his way to back full fitness following a hamstring problem, while longer-term centre-half Thompson is absent with an ankle injury and wideman Wright is on the sidelines after undergoing a knee operation in November.

In better news for Colchester boss Joe Dunne though he is able to call again on the services of left-back Ryan Dickson, central midfielder Alex Gilbey and targetman Jabo Ibehre. The trio of players having missed the U’s 3-0 home win over Gillingham last week due to illness and short-term minor knocks.

That news then leaving the Colchester matchday squad for tomorrow as follows:

Goalkeepers – Mark Cousins and Sam Walker.

Defenders – Ryan Dickson, Tom Eastman, Luke Garbutt, Frankie Kent, Marcus Okuonghae, Tosin Olufemi and Brian Wilson.

Midfielders – Marcus Bean, Craig Eastmond, Alex Gilbey, Jordan Sanderson, Dominic Vose and David Wright.

Attackers – Macauley Bonne, Jabo Ibehre, Clinton Morrison, Freddie Sears and Sanchez Watt.

The referee for tomorrow's match is Chris Sarginson from Rugeley in Staffordshire and he will be assisted down the lines by Martin Coy from Darlington and Iain Siddall from Bolton. Meanwhile the fourth official is Peter Gooch from Warrington.
