Four Blackpool players will miss out though tonight through injury, the quartet being defenders Danny Coid (knee) and Rob Edwards (ankle), while strikers Stephen McPhee (knee) and Danny Nardiello (hip) also sit out the action. Coid having limped off with his problem in the second-half of Saturday's disappointing pre-season performance in a 1-1 draw at Rochdale's Spotland.

Seasiders boss Ian Holloway commenting on both that display and tonight's match to his official website and the Gazette :

"It's about everyone understanding what I will accept from my players. I felt that in the second half not everyone worked as hard as the others. It wasn't necessarily the triallists' fault, it was some of our lot. I'm very proud to be at this club and the lads can't think that's acceptable. I have to be blunt with the players.

"I asked them if they thought they all worked as hard as the others and they said 'no'. I'm asking for the right response from them in the next few games. At least now they know what I will say, and what I'm not scared to say. I want them to follow my lead and put things right on the pitch. They should be showing me how much they want to play for Blackpool and it's a case of them understanding what I will accept.

"It wasn't all negative on Saturday, first half we worked well and created some excellent chances before switching off for their goal, that game is in the past now and I am looking for a reaction tonight. Hopefully they will have a go tonight and turn in a better performance against a Carlisle side who will be looking to put one over us. "

Two of the trialists from that match will continue their spell with Blackpool this evening, the pair being pacy former Walsall and Charlton winger Ishmael Demontagnac who was sacked by the Saddlers in November 2008 for a serious breach of club discpline, and another winger in Belgian Emmerik De Vriese, the 24-year old having featured for for AA Gent and BV Veendam in his home country.

Two other players have now joined those two on trial at Bloomfield Road as well, 26-year old defender Will Haining, once of Oldham, having linked up with the Seasiders yesterday after being released by St Mirren at the end of last season, along with the seemingly mysterious Anthony Brann. Former Manchester City right-back Curtis Obeng seems to moved on though after featuring for the Tangerines at Rochdale on Saturday.
