Stuart Campbell
Pirates skipper Stuart Campbell spoke to the Bristol Evening Post ahead of his side's match against Carlisle at Brunton Park tomorrow, Campbell not the first opposition player over the years to be asked for a comment on the travelling distance to Cumbria:

" Obviously we are looking forward to it, it is the longest trip this season for us. I am sure that we will prepare correctly and we have done quite well on the road lately so it is a game where we are really looking forward to it. Regardless of how they have done, good or bad, the main thing is that we are confident and looking forward to the game, so we will be going go up there to try to get a positive result.

" I think that Leicester must have felt sorry for us after beating us last weekend, I think that they must have felt a little bit lucky. It is a really nice gesture by them for us to stop off, I think that after leaving Leicester it is probably only about four or five hours isn't it, so no that far (laughs).

" It has already had a mention to bring all the chargers for the electronic games because thankfully I think that we have got a couple of plug sockets on the bus. So we had a group discussion to make sure that everyone brings their chargers. The card school as well, I think that they have got to bring some extra money.

" Bringing three points back makes all the difference, obviously the last couple of away games have been really good, really good trips back with three points. So we will be looking for the same on Saturday. "

While winger David Pipe commented to the Post :

" Carlisle have been struggling a little bit so if we can go there and play like we have in the last couple of away games, I'm confident we can get three points. There have been times in the past when we have struggled to get a goal - but with the people we have in the side at the moment you feel we are capable of scoring every time we go forward. If we keep a clean sheet now we've got a very good chance of winning any game. "

And striker Darryl Duffy said to SKY Sports :

" We've definitely improved over the last month or so - the results have showed that. The teams we have beaten were all on decent runs; Yeovil Town had won four straight games as had Scunthorpe United, and Oldham had only lost one at home before our win.

" We have Carlisle United away at the weekend and they would have hoped to be higher than they are. But we have to play to 100 per cent of our ability, as when we haven't, we have struggled against teams we feel we should be beating. But now we believe we're good enough to take on anyone. "

In team news for the Gas tomorrow they only seem to have one injury problem, that being defender Danny Coles who is a week or two away from full fitness as he comes back from a knee operation. One other bit of player news coming out of the Memorial Stadium being that 19-year old defender Alex Kite has today gone on loan to Conference South outfit Weston-super-Mare for a month.

The referee for tomorrow's match is Nigel Miller from Darlington, and he will be assisted down the lines by Peter Bankes from Bootle on Merseyside and Andy Newell from Blackpool. Meanwhile the fourth official is Gary Beswick from Newton Aycliffe in County Durham.
