New boy Zaaboub
Giant 6'6 Nigerian-born frontman Folawayo Onibuje has left the County Ground this morning to link up with Leroy Rosenior's struggling Brentford outfit on loan for two months, the move with a view to a permanent transfer in the January transfer window. The 22-year old already has six clubs to his name after starting out at Preston North End as a trainee, Fola then moving on to Huddersfield on loan before spending short terms on a permanent basis at Barnsley, Peterborough and Cambridge United.

Onibuje scored 11 goals in 26 Nationwide Conference starts for the U's, that good form at the Abbey Stadium leading to a move in the summer on a three-month deal to the County Ground, where he was eventually handed a contract until the end of the season by former Town Boss Dennis Wise. New Robins manager Sturrock commenting on Onibuje's loan move to Griffin Park : "I had watched him in training and just didn't think he was going to fit in to what we are trying to do."

Meanwhile, making his way into the Swindon squad is French left-sided player Sofiane Zaaboub, the 23-year old having featured for Montereau, Saint-Etienne, Modena, Real Jaen and FC Brussels before trying his luck in England. The Algerian/French dual national has already had more trials in this country than Pete Doherty though as he been unsuccessful in earning contracts while on trial at Preston North End, Plymouth Argyle, Sheffield Wednesday, Swansea City and Luton Town.

Paul Sturrock was the manager at the Owls when Zaaboub had his trial at Hillsborough and the former Dundee United boss obviously feels the Montereau-Surville-born defender is capable of playing at League Two level after signing him this morning on a short-term deal until the January transfer window. The name Zaaboub will mean nothing to nearly all United fans, however he played left-back on trial for Preston's reserves in their 2-0 defeat at Brunton Park in September. Blues supporters will be hoping for a repeat of his performance in that game as well as it was he who set up Pete Ferris to score the match-clinching second goal with a dreadfully short 88th minute back-pass to North End 'keeper Chris Neal.
