Southampton manager Nigel Adkins spoke to BBC Radio Solent and his club's official website ahead of his side's League One match against Carlisle at St Mary's tomorrow, Adkins first talking about the Blues reaching the final of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Tuesday night :

"They got themselves through and great credit to them, great credit should go to them. Obviously, the trauma of losing so heavily to Southampton last season, for them to actually bounce back and get to the final again is great credit to Greg Abbott and his team to the football club. Because, to do that takes a lot of doing, I am sure that now they have got to Wembley they have got to fancy their chances to go on and win the trophy.

"So, we have got to be wary of all the opposition, we always are, we talk about that constantly and we have got to make sure that we keep our house in order and expect the unexpected. They have played several different formations of late, but they should be buoyed a little bit by getting to Wembley, hopefully they had a good night of celebration and that will maybe take its course at the weekend.

"I think it has been proven that on any day anbyody can beat anybody and the league is very, very competitive. We have just got to make sure that we keep our house in order, it just underlines though that if you can keep that level of consistency and keep picking up points, because at the end of the day we have got 19 games to go.

"If you look at the Peterborough game, could that be the point that makes the difference in the end? It is just under half a season, it is a lot, a lot of games to play, you have got a lot of teams that are going to be facing the same thing, Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday, for at least the next two months. Hopefully we have got a strong enough squad to deal with the situations that will arise.

"Sometimes you have to go horses for courses. When we went up to Oldham you look at the way that José (Fonte) and Radhi (Jaidi) performed, they were outstanding, but I had looked at (Craig) Mackail-Smith and the pace and problems he would cause, so I put Dan Seaborne in there. Even then for all the good and purposes that you are looking at, Mackail-Smith was still a threat, and that is why he has been linked with a lot of big football clubs

"I'm really pleased with the way that Dany (N'Guessan) has settled in, we have been doing a bit of extra crossing work with him this morning and he has a cracking attitude about himself. He did ever so well at Exeter, we had to change our shape a little to go to Peterborough, but he has settled very well into the group and the lads that we have got in the building have really helped him settle.

"We did some fitness testing this week, and it is fair to say that there are some world class athletes amongst our ranks at the moment. Jonathan Forte really got amongst the record books, so that was very pleasing. We have to allow him to bed into the football club and utilise that pace as part of the team, we need to get that big smile on his face and help his confidence."
