Grimsby boss Alan Buckley spoke to the Grimsby Telegraph as he gave his reaction to his charges being drawn away to Carlisle in the first round of the 2007-08 FA Cup, Buckley saying :

"Once a draw is drawn, that's what you have to contend with. There's no point in saying 'I wish it was something else'. It's not really a 'banana skin' tie. You can go to some places on a hiding to nothing.

"Carlisle have had a fantastic start to the season in a division higher than us. In that sense, we will be underdogs. But I don't class us as underdogs when we go anywhere. We will go there and give them a game."

Meanwhile Mariners Chairman John Fenty commented on the draw :

"It's certainly a tough one for us. It would have been nice to get a home draw - that's what everyone wants in the cup. But who knows, it may bring out the best in the team. We have performed well against opposition from higher divisions so far this season in games against Burnley and Huddersfield so we won't be going there with any fear.

"It's a long way for our loyal fans but no doubt there will still be a sizeable number making the long trip. Our away supporters really are superb and they back the team in huge numbers everywhere they go. I'm sure they will show their support again at Carlisle and hopefully it will carry us through to Round Two."
