Crawley boss John Gregory spoke to his club's official website ahead of his side's League One game at home to Carlisle tomorrow, Gregory keen to see Town back in action after three weeks without a match:

“People have worked exceptionally hard on the pitch this week trying to get this game to go ahead. Obviously, the last game against Stevenage two weeks at home got called off on the morning of the game, so we are hoping that tomorrow morning we will have some good news and this game goes ahead.

“Our boys are ready to play and as you have seen in the league table we have unfortunately slipped down a few places purely and simply because we have not been playing. We want to get back on the field and get back up that table. The only thing that it has helped us with is that we have a fully-fit squad now with the time to get over injuries. Everyone is just raring to go, myself included.

“I have no fear in starting any of my players, I am very confident about the 19 boys that we have got at the moment. We got close to a couple of new signings for the weekend though but it won’t be happening now. We have still got a couple of boys that we are almost over the line with but they have yet to sign contracts, there are a couple of bits and pieces need to be tidied up.

“I think both boys have been with us for the last few days and they have just gone away for the weekend really just to talk it over with their better halves. Obviously, it is Valentine’s Day, they have gone home today with chocolates and flowers and cards so can I play for Crawley. So, hopefully I will get a nod in the right direction from the two of them over the weekend, but we will probably find out a bit more on Monday."

“I am expecting a tough game tomorrow, the fact that we have not been playing means we have no momentum going into it, our last game was up at Rotherham three weeks ago. So, it is a long time since we have been playing but I don’t think we will be rusty at all. There certainly won’t be any excuse from us, we are as fired up as we have ever been I think for the particular game.

“But, we know that Carlisle will come here on the back of a good result on Tuesday night and a bit of a scalp in beating Bradford who are no pushover for anybody in this division. No team is a pushover in this division, Bristol City won at Leyton Orient on Tuesday which was a bit of a shock and it just shows that you any team in this division can beat anybody.

“Certainly Carlisle will be a difficult game, they are a very hardworking team, they have got three boys in I think from Manchester United on loan so they won’t be mugs. A big game for us and it will be a tough game as every game is in League One, you never get an easy match whatsoever. But, we are prepared, fired up and raring to go and we are just praying really that the game goes ahead.

“This place used to be a fortress, no-one ever really wanted to go to Crawley, it was a tough place to go. I have had a look back at the records and we have had some fantastic home form here, which is one of the reasons we are in League One. We do need to make sure our home form matches our away form because I think since I have been here we haven’t lost on the road, albeit only winning one, but we have had some great performances. So, we need to win our home games and hopefully climb back up that table.”
