Brighton creative midfielder Elliott Bennett spoke to his club's official website and the Argus ahead of his side's League One game against Carlisle at the Withdean Stadium tomorrow, Bennett hoping to give something back to the Seagulls supporters over the next two months :

"The home fans are magnificent to put up with Withdean, but the away fans are brilliant because we always take big numbers, even on a cold Tuesday night. Hopefully we can give something back to them and I want that to be promotion at the end of the season. It would be massive for everyone and definitely the biggest achievement of my career to date, but especially for them.

"It's great to be a part of this team: we have a great manager, it's a great club and we have got an unbelievable stadium just round the corner, so playing football in the Championship next season will be brilliant - but we'll take it one game at a time.

"We showed our other side at Yeovil on Tuesday and people underestimate us because we play football, so they don't think we have got the strength side to our game, but we showed today that we can be resilient, and that earned us a big three points. If we have to be like that and win 1-0 until the end of the season we'll take that."

“I said at the beginning of the season I wanted to beat my tally of goals last year, when I got nine. If I can get ten I will be over the moon but if I don’t score again this season and we get promoted I will be happy. I will take scoring six and the team getting promoted.

“We try to share the goals around. That is what we try to work on. I don’t think we have scored as many goals from midfield as we would have liked this season but we have three fantastic forwards who are all in great form. If the midfielders and defenders can chip in and help as well then it is good for everyone.

“In terms of position in the league, Carlisle are a lot higher than Yeovil who tested us. Obviously we are a bit different at home. If the pitch is nice we try to play nice football but if we have to be resilient and keep winning 1-0 until the end of the season I will take that all day long.”
