BBC West Footballer Of The Year Louis Carey spoke to The Bristol Evening Post about the match against United tonight. The Robins centre-half talking about the confidence in the back four at the moment, despite City conceding three goals at home to Gillingham on Sunday :

" Carlisle will be another good game for us but, in all fairness, whoever plays in the back four, we are confident against anybody. (Karl) Hawley scored a lot of goals last season and has started well this season - and we know (Kevin) Gall from his time at Rovers and Yeovil."

" I said to Fonts (Liam Fontaine) that I thought he did well when I was out, but thankfully for me the gaffer put me back in and hopefully I can repay him. Jamie (McCombe) is a lad who attacks the ball well in the air and we work off each other quite well. When you are confident playing alongside someone you start to enjoy it and it all clicks into place.

" We should be all right in terms of recovery because we have got a good staff here who look after the players. We know just how long the journey from Carlisle to Bristol is so hopefully we can catch them cold. Their away record is not as good as their home record so if we can get out the blocks well that will be good for us.

" The LDV final was a good occasion but we didn't play that well because the pitch was dry and bobbly and suited the way they played. But we got the result we went there for in the end. In all fairness, a lot of players have moved on since then and the fans remember it more than the players.

" Our football going forward has been some of the best we've played this season in recent games and, hopefully, both Enoch (Showumni) and Jevo (Phil Jevons) can take that into tonight's game. The way they are both playing at the moment they can cause any defence problems and long may that continue. "

Three City players will face late fitness test before the match this evening, with Steve Brooker having missed the last two matches with a knee problem, while Cole Skuse and Jamie McAllister picked up knocks in the Robins's 4-3 FA Cup win over Gillingham on Sunday. City boss Gary Johnson telling his club's official website :

" Brooker has a chance of facing Carlisle. There has not been a serious setback as far as his knee is concerned, but he hasn't been quite 100% since the Swansea game. There is no point in taking any chances with him after a long lay-off and we will assess him again tomorrow. That also applies to Skuse and McAllister. They won't have long to recover from the Gillingham game, but neither problem is serious and we took them off early to give them every chance of playing against Carlisle. "

On the plus side for the Ashton Gate outfit Scott Brown and David Noble have continued their progress from hamstring injuries and are set to be involved.

The referee for tonight's match is Army Captain Danny McDermid from London, and he will be assisted down the lines by Wayne Barratt from Worcestershire and Declan Ford from London, meanwhile the fourth official will be Roger Vaughan from Somerset.
