Southampton manager Alan Pardew spoke to his club's official website ahead of his side's League One match against Carlisle at St. Mary's Stadium tomorrow, Pardew knowing the Saints have to win all their remaining three games just to stand a chance of getting into the promotion play-offs :

" We need to win all three. Mathematically we still have a chance of the play-offs and as long as there is a chance we will try and take it, this team is good enough to do that. Of course there is frustration in the camp about the result the other night against Oldham, but that will happen regardless of how good you are or what division you are in. We have to suffer that, which we have, but we will bounce back on Saturday in good style.

" They (Huddersfield) will be nervous on Saturday. They know that one win takes them into the play-offs. Colchester are still there, we are still there so they haven't got any room for error. As Oldham proved, any opposition is very, very difficult to beat in any division. As I keep telling people, these are professional sides, when you play professional sides they want to win.

" The pressure is still on them because Colchester are still there and we are still there. They need to win and they will feel that. It could be over for us on Saturday night if they win of course, but on the other hand they could get very nervous if we win and they lose. That's all we can do win our game, and that's what we will aim to do.

" We still have a chance and anyone that knows me will know that there is no chance I will let this team take its foot off the gas. We were a little bit tense in training today because they feel that it may be getting away, but the only way that you can not let it get away is to win. "

" We are hoping to get a really big crowd firstly because it will be great weather. The crowd will be really important for us because I think the players will be hurt from midweek and they will need a lift. We need to make sure especially in these two home games that we finish on a high.

" We need them to keep supporting as strongly as they have, they have been absolutely brilliant this year. I have thoroughly enjoyed my relationship with them on and off the pitch. I am looking forward to the last two games in particular because I think we can put in some good performances and I hope we do.

" What you have to understand about a football club is that the Chairman has a job, the Manager has a job, the players have a job, the kitman has a job, but the fans have an important role. If they don't buy into the team, if they don't think that their team is putting out for their club then they won't be happy. When you have a fan base that isn't happy then you have a problem, it doesn't matter who you are, and we see that up and down the country.

" In these last three games for us, it's important that we maintain the relationship that we have gained through their respect of us on the football pitch. We need to keep that in these last three games so that even if we are out of it on Saturday in terms of the playoffs, then the last two games for me become even more important for us to keep that trust. "

" It will be a big test in terms of the opposition, because they have a chance to stop us from getting into the play-offs. After losing a cup final 4-1, no one wants to lose in the manner that they did, they will be very determined to put it right. Make no bones about it, they are a good side with a good manager and we will have to be at our best to beat them.

" I would like to think that the players themselves have created the spirit to see it through. When you look at players like David Connolly in the group, Dean Hammond, José Fonte, Paul Wotton and Kelvin Davis, they know what it's about.

" The senior professionals here have set a terrific standard and the young players are now used to winning and they want to win. They want to win in training and they want to win in games. That mentality will be carried through until such time as we achieve success. We have some internal objectives that I have placed in front of them too that I will talk about at the end of the season if we reach them.

" There is still a lot to play for in our view, we have to end the season well. But, we need a lift and I think it would be great if we got a good attendance, I really hope that it is. All of us, from the youngest fan to the oldest employee at the Club, it has been a fantastic effort from Southampton and we need to round it off with three wins. "
