Latics on-loan keeper Knight has won his appeal against the red card he received against the Cumbrians on his debut. The Football Association's disciplinary panel ruled that the 39th minute sending-off by referee Graham Salisbury from Preston  - for handball outside the area - should not stand, so Knight is now clear to play against Bournemouth at the Fitness First Stadium on Saturday.

Oldham have already appealed against two dismissals so far this season, both red cards coming in one game and one incident. They were unsuccessful in the case of Neal Eardley's dismissal at Tranmere for kicking the ball at Calvin Zola while he was on the ground. Zola lying on the deck in the first place after Chris Taylor had been sent off for a professional foul on him seconds earlier, the appeal against Taylor's red card was successful though and his dismissal was overturned.
