Barnsley have secured the services of Doncaster star Michael McIndoe on a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee, the 26-year-old scoring 35 goals from the left wing in 142 appearances in a three-year period at Belle Vue. McIndoe turned out six times for Derby in a loan spell last season but a permanent transfer wasn't forthcoming, and the ex-Yeovil man now moves across to Oakwell.

Staying in South Yorkshire Rotherham boss Alan Knill says an argument over £60 has cost defender Shaun Barker his future at the club, Barker now being a free agent after turning down two new contract offers at Millmoor. The 23-year old now looks set to join Blackpool, although Barker's agent is claiming a technicality will prevent the Merry Millers from receiving a compensation fee, that claim being likely to be contested by Rotherham at a tribunal later this month.

Midfielder David Hunt is out of Northampton's pre-season tour to Austria after picking up a leg injury in training, trialist striker Daniel McBreen, formerly of Falkirk, will travel on the trip with the Cobblers however. Jamaican international defender Ian Goodison has secured a new work permit, following an appeal, in order to sign a fresh one-year contract with Tranmere, the 33-year old having joined the Prenton Park outfit from Hull City in 2004.

Injury-prone Spanish striker Juan Ugarte is still not sure of signing for Wrexham again following his release by Crewe at the end of last season, the 25-year old having to wait to find out whether Red Dragons boss Denis Smith has enough money in the budget to sign him, following Wrexham's impending release from the administrative shackles.

French goalkeeper Willy Gueret has signed a new two-year deal with Swansea. The 32-year old was the subject of a £100,000 bid from MK Dons last month but City boss Kenny Jackett has moved to keep his number one glovesman, although he still has keepers Mikel Herbet and Andy Oakes on trial at the Liberty Stadium. Meanwhile reserve team striker Mark Pritchard is expected to sign for Conference club Aldershot this weekend.
