Youth Team League Weekend Update

Oldham kept up their six point lead at the top of Group A with a thumping 6-0 win at Rochdale, while Bury kept up the chase on the Latics with a 3-1 victory away to Port Vale. Also in Group A Preston kept up their good run of late with a 2-1 win at Wigan while Accrington Stanley succumbed to their 18th straight defeat in the season as they lost 4-2 at home to Blackpool.

A couple of games in Group B saw two of the bottom three gain victories, Wrexham surprisingly winning 3-0 at Walsall to stop the Saddlers going top of the table, while Shrewsbury leapfrogged Macclesfield in the standings by defeating the Silkmen 3-1 at home. Carlisle had a free date this week but they get back to action next Saturday in a cross-group fixture at home to Chester.
