Blackpool moved up to third in the table, leapfrogging Carlisle in the process, with a 4-2 away win at Prenton Park against Tranmere. Adnan Ahmed gave Rovers the lead in the 13th minute with an Ashley Taylor own goal and an Andrew Welsh strike a minute either side of the half-hour mark putting the visitors 2-1 up.

Two minutes before the break Danny Mitchley put the Seasiders 3-1 up, then into the second-half Ashton Bayliss made it 4-1 with 50 minutes on the clock. Craig Curran's header after 72 minutes thus proving to just be a consolation goal for the Rovers second-string.

Wrexham kept their recent good run going with a 2-1 win at home to Accrington Stanley, in a match played at Plaskynaston Lane, the home of Newi Cefn Druids FC. Andrew Smith gave the visitors the lead in the 11th minute before goals from Wes Baynes on 67 minutes and Marc Williams after 73 minutes meant that the Red Dragons claimed all three points.

As we already know, after a recent eight-match unbeaten run, Carlisle disappointingly lost 1-0 to a first-half Jon Newby goal for Morecambe at Christie Park on Wednesday night. United getting the chance to resume winning ways when they face Bury next Wednesday in a 2pm kick-off at Brunton Park.
