Ade Akinbiyi - opening goal
The Clarets second-string made it three wins from three as they triumphed 3-1 at the Racecourse Ground against Wrexham on Monday night. Ade Akinbiyi opened the scoring for the visitors on five minutes only for the Welshmen to draw level through a 53rd minute David Unsworth own goal. Burnley made sure of all three points though thanks to late strikes from Wade Elliott and James O'Connor.

Morecambe keep their unbeaten record and stay second in the table after taking part in a dour 0-0 draw away to Bury in a match played at the Inn2Gether Stadium, Radcliffe Borough FC on Wednesday night. Bury had perhaps the better of the chances but neither side was able to find what would have been a winning goal.

Next in the table come Accrington Stanley who defeated Rochdale 2-1 at the Fraser Eagle Stadium on the same evening in an entertaining match. Rochdale having two men sent off in goalscorer Jonathan Hutchinson and defender Raphael Evans. Stanley's goals coming from Shaun Whalley and a Portuguese trialist who knocked home the rebound after Whalley had failed to convert a penalty.

Chester have moved up to fourth in the table after defeating Preston 2-1 at the Deva Stadium on Wednesday afternoon. City opening the scoring in the 35th minute through Paul Rutherford, with Nathan Lowndes doubling the advantage for the home side with 50 minutes on the clock. North End reserve team regular Karl Hawley pulled a goal back for the visitors on 65 minutes but Chester were able to hang on for all three points.

In a battle at the bottom end of the table Manchester City defeated Blackpool 2-0 away from home in a match played at Highbury, the home of Fleetwood Town FC on Wednesday night. Prolific 18-year old reserve team striker Ched Evans, who has represented Wales at under-21 level, scoring a goal in either half to seal the win for the Citizens.

As we already know Carlisle grabbed their first win of the season on Tuesday afternoon when they won 3-0 at Brunton Park against Tranmere, the United goals coming from Neale McDermott (2) and Danny Carlton. The Blues second-string face a tougher task next week though when they travel down to Lancashire on Wednesday night looking to put a dent in Burnley's 100% record.
