Reserves League Round-Up This Week

Bury trialist Jon Newby
The 'Dale took all three points home with them from a match against the Red Dragons played at Globe Way, the home of Buckley Town FC. Clive Moyo-Modise opened the scoring for the visitors on ten minutes before Trinidadian Josh Johnson equalised for the home side in the 38th minute. 'Dale took the lead again three minutes before the break though through ex-Wrexham and Bury striker Jon Newby, who is currently on trial at Spotland, before Moyo-Modise bagged his second of the night to seal the win for the visitors as he converted a spot-kick early in the second-half.

The dreadful recent weather saw Blackpool's scheduled home match at Highbury, Fleetwood Town, against Tranmere called off due to a waterlogged pitch at a quiet time of year in the second-string league. Four matches are pencilled in to go ahead next week though with Carlisle finally getting back to meaningful reserve team action away to Rochdale on Wednesday night as they look to haul themselves away from the third-bottom spot in the table.

Blackpool P-P Tranmere (waterlogged pitch)
