The big prize
Current Blues caretaker manager Greg Abbott was born in Coventry and started his footballing career with the Sky Blues, Abbot commenting to the News and Star on an exciting cup draw for him :

"I was Coventry daft as a kid. It's where I grew up and where I started my career, so it's a nice draw for me. They had a fantastic squad at the time and I made my debut for the reserves at Anfield.

"It was always going to be difficult for me to break into the first team and I left for Bradford when I was 18. I got a lot of games at Bradford so the move worked out for me, but it was a wrench to leave at the time because I was born and bred in Coventry and I wanted to play for my home-town team.

"It's maybe not the best draw we could have had but at the same time, it's one we could win. It will be nice to see Iain again. I know him quite well. It's an interesting fixture and one to look forward to."
