United striker, and joint League One top goalscorer, Danny Graham spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's Derek Lacey on Saturday evening as he talked about the thumping 4-0 win at home to Millwall, Graham suggesting that the result was all that mattered yesterday :

" We've been meaning to do that to a team for a long time, we've dominated games without getting the cutting edge and scoring the goals. Thankfully today we have done that and put four past them in the first-half and ended up with a positive result. It is the defence's aim to keep a clean sheet for every game they can and, as you know, if we are going to stick them in at the top end then we are more confident that they are going to keep a clean sheet on more than one occasion.

" He (Greg Abbott) has come in as caretaker and he's done a really good job. He's taken us into the play-off zone, the new manager has come in but Greg hasn't been bitter about it, he's been right behind the new man which is a good sign. Everyone is giving John (Ward) the backing and Greg the backing and hopefully we can just be a force to be reckoned with and push on and hopefully get towards that play-off zone.

" I'm well pleased, I've always said that if I get the chance and if I'm confident enough that I think I am going to score. Thankfully over these last few weeks I've been getting the right service and I've been putting them away which is pleasing. The most important thing today though was the result, a new manager coming in and the fans expecting it, the result was the main thing today. "

Meanwhile midfielder Marc Bridge-Wilkinson, who scored his first goal in Carlisle colours yesterday commented :

Marc Bridge-Wilkinson
" It's very pleasing for myself to get my first goal, obviously the performance is the main thing and in the first-half we were excellent. We have been waiting to do that for a long time as Danny said and we are pleased that we have done that now. Changing managers is part of football, it's something that we've all grown up involved in this sort of thing. From time to time these things happen, we are professional people and it's part of our job just to go on and get on with things.

" We have shown today that we are right behind the new manager and I think that has sent a message out to the rest of the teams in this division that we are a force to be reckoned with. This division is renowned for being very tight and any team that can be consistent and keep putting wins on the board, and consecutive results, be they draws or wins then they are going to do well in this division. That's something that we'll be aiming to do now.

" It (Johnstone's Paint Trophy) is a good trophy, for this level of football it's something that is realistically something you can go out and do well in. Obviously in the FA Cup and the League Cup you have got all the bigger teams coming in to them and you are not expected to do very well. Sometimes teams do and it's great but this is a cup that a club of our stature can really do well in and go forward in.

" Who doesn't want to play at Wembley? So it's something to aim for really, we don't know how the manager stands on that competition, it's something that we'll find out on Monday I presume. As a player you look forward to playing every game so no matter who it is or whatever competition it is we look forward and hopefully we can do well. "
