New United loan signing Joe Garner spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's Derek Lacey after training today as he gave his thoughts on his temporary transfer to Brunton Park until the end of the season :

" I've been playing for the reserves in Blackburn and have scored a few goals for the reserves, I think there have been a few scouts, or managers, watching and I got invited to come up and here I am. It's what I want – to play first-team football and play for points not just in the reserve league, it's all I want really.

" Hopefully I'll get some goals and get us to the play-offs, I just want to get goals really and help the team out. I basically know about Carlisle United through one of the coaches who has come up from Blackburn (Eric Kinder), he's the youth team coach and he's always raving on about how good the club and the fans are. He asked me if I'd be interested in coming up and after all he's been saying about the club I'm here now.

" We've got a game tomorrow against Crewe, we'll see how we do and hopefully we'll push up the table. It's nice to come to a club that is very much on the way up, they've done well over the last few years and hopefully we can take another big step forward. There are a few pranksters in the dressing-room but they all seem to be good lads, new places and new faces, they seemed a good bunch of lads at training this morning and it was a good atmosphere.

" I'm looking forward to getting going. I don't really know any of the players but I'd been hearing over the last three or four weeks that I might be coming so I've been having a look at the results and the players to see how things are going. "
