Leeds boss Gary McAllister spoke to the official Whites website after his side's 2-0 win at Brunton Park this afternoon, McAllister signing the praises of Leeds midfielder Jonathan Douglas :

"We've defeated one of our closest rivals for the title and while picking up three points is always pleasing, there's more to come from this team - it's only early in the season. It goes without saying that we were delighted to come away with the three points. It's a tough place to come and Carlisle are one of our main competitors this season. I like what John Ward does there because they try to play attractive football.

"But as much as I was pleased, there were a few too many unforced errors. I don't want to sound blase because we won 2-0 away, but I think we can perform better. We gave the ball away when we shouldn't have at times, but the be all and end all is that this is a results business and we came away with three points.

"He (Aidan White) cramped up, it was the occasion and the experience. He's a very proud lad and he was jumping out of his skin when he found out he was going to be in the starting eleven. He did very well. All the reports were that (Cleveland) Taylor was the man for them during their start to the season, and he finished up going off in the second half.

"He (Jonathan Douglas) is a guy who plays in an area of the park where his work is unselfish and for the team. He is a great foil for (Fabian) Delph and (Neil) Kilkenny. He doesn't grab the headlines, but he knows what I think of his performances."

Meanwhile 16-year old Leeds left-back Aidan White commented on his league debut :

"It was a faster tempo, but you have to play your normal game. You treat it as any other day, try to forget about the crowd, and play as well as you can. I thought I did okay. He (Cleveland Taylor) is a good player, he's got great feet, and you have to deal with it.

"We did well to get a result. We played well, but we can play better. Overall it was a good result for us though. I was buzzing throughout the game, it was a great experience. I found out at 10am I was going to play when we ran through their team, our team, and our shape. Once you know you are playing you hope you do well."
