United frontman Kevin Gall spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's Derek Lacey on Friday morning as he talked about the home game with Bristol Rovers, the Welshman talking about his two-year spell with the Pirates between 2001 and 2003 :

" Of course I'm looking forward to every game, to be honest I haven't really thought about it, I didn't really look at the fixtures and think that I couldn't wait for Bristol Rovers. It's just another game, I was there five or six years ago so it's gone now and I've moved on in football as people do. I suppose there is maybe not one player still there who was there when I was there.

" I'm glad they are doing really well at the minute because it is good for the club and Bristol. It's just another game for us now, it's not of those things where I've got to prove something and stuff because I've done that already when I left there. It's not just because it's Bristol Rovers it's because I think it's going to be good to get three points on Saturday, I think that's what we need to be looking for.

" It was weird, I did really well when I first went there and then a new manager came in and I was put on the right-wing, didn't get games and didn't play at all. I decided to ask for my contract to be ripped up because I was just coming in. I was living actually back home in Merthyr at the time and I was driving for an hour and 20 minutes to training and I wasn't even training with the first-team. I was just training on my own with a couple of the lads there doing a 12-minute run and then sending me home.

" I asked for him to release me from my contract and he did and I ended up going on trial at Yeovil and that is where it has all gone from really. A lot of people probably don't know that but that's what happened, I didn't have a club for a couple of days. I actually went on trial to Yeovil, I didn't just go there and sign, I went on trial and I might not have got there. Luckily for me though I did well and it all went well from there. "

" I've never looked back since from there to be honest, I'd never say a bad word about Bristol Rovers. The fans were always good to me down there, it's one of those things where you move on, in football you are in favour one minute and then out of favour the next, that's football. I was always professional and I always showed a good attitude, whenever I played I tried to give 150% like I do.

" It's just one of those things, I just wasn't involved. I tried to get my head down, tried to be professional, I was in every day even though I was driving all that way just to do a 12-minute run. I still went and I still did it and I didn't argue about it, I just did it and that was it really.

" We always said here that we needed to get a good start and I think we had an excellent start this year. Obviously we've had a bit of a slip over the last couple of games but you can't win every game. I thought we were excellent against Swansea, I thought the lads did a great job. Two missed concentrations, lack of concentration and they scored two goals.

" Good teams like Swansea will do that to you and we've got to learn from that. I don't think that we can underestimate Bristol Rovers on Saturday because they have got nine points already. They are doing alright and they have got good players. I know a couple of them, one of my good friends plays for them in David Pipe. I think it's important for us to get the three points, after losing the two games I think it's important that we get back on track, get a good performance in and get the three points, that's the main thing. "
