New United signing Johann Smith spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's Derek Lacey before training today as he gave his thoughts on his temporary transfer from the Reebok Stadium to Brunton Park until the end of the season :

" I've got the World Cup coming up, we qualified two weeks ago in Panama, we had seven points and we tied at the top of the table, we're really looking forward to making a big impact at the World Cup this summer, we've got a really good team. The faster I go with the ball the more chance we have of scoring a goal, or setting someone else up for a goal, I use my pace as much as possible. I'm definitely looking forward to it, get some playing time under my belt in League One football, it should help me out as a footballer, and I hope to help Carlisle as a team as well.

" I don't know if Neil McDonald being here was the main reason I signed, it was more Bolton's decision, I think it was one of the factors though. It should be fun, he looks like a really good manager and I hope to improve under him. I'm not sure what my celebration would be like if a scored a goal, anything can happen with me. It might just be low-key or I might run all over the place, I don't know yet. "
