United caretaker manager Greg Abbott spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's Derek Lacey on Thursday morning as he talked about the upcoming game at home to Tranmere this weekend :

" The league is the bread-and-butter, it's the key for everybody and an important start for all and Ronnie (Moore) will have his team well charged up. He will know that he is coming to a tough game, he'll know that his players will have to play to their best, as we will to our best, to get a result. It will be a different type of game on Saturday because sometimes the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, although we will take it very, very seriously this season, has got a bit of a ring to it where players go out a little bit not firing on all cylinders.

" I think that his team showed that on Tuesday night and Morecambe were well up for it. The FA Cup and League Cup, it's nice if we can get runs in those and we might get a big club somewhere along the way but the chances are that we won't win it. The Johnstone's Paint Trophy - I think we'd be silly to just use it as a non-event cup. We've got to make sure that we try to do our best in that, the further down the line you get there is a few quid to be made as well.

" I'm not going to hide from the fact that we've had a fantastic start to the season. I've looked at the thing around us, and I've looked at the teams at the bottom of the league and the people who are struggling. We're really pleased with what we have achieved so far but it is very, very early, you say that between 10 or 15 games is going to give you an idea of where you are going to be at so hopefully we're still up there after 10 or 15 games. That's still an early shout but it means that you have played more than half the teams once at least and we'll be very, very pleased if we are up there then.

" No new injuries at the moment, touch wood we have got a decent bill of health. I think Murph (Peter Murphy) is going to come out and train with us today and then tomorrow just light with a view to joining more or less 100% on Monday which will be fantastic for us. He (Harry Worley) has been better this week, he's had Monday and Tuesday with the boys and then he'll have today and tomorrow and then see how he goes for the weekend. He's certainly got into the pace of things though, the change of environment and the different styles.

" The headache is dealing with the problem that I have got a lot of players playing very well. Danny Carlton scored two goals yesterday in the reserve game and was absolutely excellent by the way. He is one that is pushing, there are other players that are pushing, we have a good squad, a strong squad. The reserves yesterday showed that they have got the message from last week and they are putting pressure on all the boys that will start in the game against Tranmere.

" We're always going down the avenue of thoughts on loan signings, we're always looking. We watched four games in three days, Dennis (Booth) and myself, always looking at players, always looking at other teams. If one comes up that is available that is going to improve us then we've been given the go-ahead from the board to make enquiries about that and follow it down. If it comes up and available and it is going to improve us then yes - it will happen tomorrow. Again if it's a week it's a week or if it's a month then it will be a month but we're looking all the time.

" We need that crowd there tomorrow don't we, holidays are over now, we need them back and we want their support as we have been getting over the last few weeks. It again has been very, very good for us so, big crowd on Saturday, make life uncomfortable for Tranmere and let's hope that we get another result. "
