United's loanee midfielder Adam Clayton spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's James Phillips on Friday evening ahead of Carlisle's League One game at Swindon tomorrow, Clayton talking about how the longer away journeys can be good for team bonding :

" You get to know the new lads a bit more on these long trips, like (Darryl) Duffy. We have got dinner later so I am sure we will all have a bit of banter there for a few hours. But we have got to get our heads down tonight and make sure we try to bring three points back to Carlisle tomorrow, because it is an important game for us tomorrow I think.

" I get on with Craig Bellamy to be fair but he has got that firey personality. I don't really know much about the situation with him this week but I am going to try to do some research tonight. Text a few people, see what is going on, see if I can get the truth. I haven't heard anything at the moment but I am sure he has had an argument with one or two people, but he is alright and I am sure it will get sorted out.

" I didn't expect to get to Wembley, me and my Dad had a joke about it when we found out Carlisle were in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. We said that we could go to Wembley but we just laughed it off really, and now we are here it is a brilliant thing for me personally. So it is always good, and I am going to play at Wembley, so I can't wait.

" Reserve and youth team football gives you the base but then you need proper football and you need the thing of having to get three points on a Saturday for various different reasons. If you lose then it is a major blow, if you lose in the reserve team it is not really, you do care but it is not really going to affect you.

" But if you lose in this football and you might be dropping into the relegation zone then you can't let that happen can you. So it is just the importance of the games is much better for my development at the moment.

" You need the right people around you because there are times when you are going to be down and you just need lifting. But other times it is brilliant when you are playing obviously, but if you are left out as a youngster it can be hard, but if you have got the right people behind you then you will get through it. Then you have just got to keep going, keep believing and never doubt yourself.

" We seem to do alright against the bigger teams in the division, the teams that are doing well. We seem to step our game up, so hopefully we can do that again tomorrow and get a good win. "
