Karl Hawley1Former Blues striker Karl Hawley spoke to his club's official website ahead of his side's 2011-12 League One season opener against Carlisle at Brunton Park, Hawley understandably looking forward to the game :

"It is obviously my aim to go on the pitch every time and score a goal, to do well for the team and Saturday is going to be no different. It is up against my former team so I am looking forward to going up there, I had some great times up there and it will be a good game to start off with.

"There are a few of them still there, there is Peter Murphy, I think Danny Livesey is there and the manager (Greg Abbott) is there, he was the assistant when I was last there, and no doubt behind the scenes there will be all the same people still there as well.

"I'm going to keep just doing what I can, getting chances to score and hopefully one of them will go in on Saturday and that'll kick-start me and the team. I put pressure on myself to go out and score goals; of late, it's not been happening that way but I don't beat myself up.

"I keep going, I keep wanting the ball, I keep trying to score, because obviously I want to score goals and I put my own pressure on myself. The gaffer (Martin Allen) has been brilliant; he's not once told me that I've got to score or I've got to do this or that, because he see's how I play, and he appreciates that and he tells me to keep working at it. I know that it's a part of my game that I can still work at and I can get better at it."
