Recent respective form guides

Carlisle have had a slightly disappointing home run of late having faced some tough opposition in their last six matches at Brunton Park, United winning and losing three each of those games. The Cumbrians have scored seven goals in that run of games but have conceded an alarming eight.

Tranmere have an average recent record in their last six matches on the road, collecting one win and three draws from that run of games. A generous eight goals have been both scored and conceded in this period.

After just four games of the League One season Carlisle are second in the table having picked up an excellent ten points so far, Tranmere meanwhile are in fifth place after gaining seven points to date, although they have crashed out of both the League Cup and Johnstone's Paint Trophy at the first hurdle to lower league opposition in Stockport and Morecambe respectively.
